Basically "Majuli" is a waterway island in the Brahmaputra River of (Assam) which had a space of around 880 square kilometers i.e (340 sq mi) at the start of the twentieth century. 💬💬A little History (Majuli):

In the beginning, the island was a long and narrow piece of land in the middle of two parallel rivers i.e Brahmaputra in the north and Burhidihing in the south until they met at Lakhu. In the period of 1661-1696, frequent earthquakes set the stage for a catastrophic flood in 1750 which was continued for 15 days as mentioned in the historical texts and as a result of this flood, part of the Brahmaputra discharged southward into what was the Burhidihing' lower channel and Majuli island was formed.

1. Majuli has been the cultural capital of Assamese civilization since the 16th century based on the written records describing the visit of Srimanta Sankardeva ( The Creator of  Vaishnavism in Assam and a social reformer of the 16th century).

2. It was additionally administered by the British till the freedom of India (1947).

3. Ancient name was "Majoli" and now call "Majuli".

4. As of 2016 it is known as the world's biggest river island.

2. Umanada:-💬💬 

About:

Umanada is again a waterway island situated in the stream Brahmaputra. This island is easily approachable by coming to Kachari Ghat Guwahati/Assam. It is known as the most diminutive riverine island in the world. On this island, a sanctuary of Lord Shiva is found which is known as  "Umanada Temple". The mountain on which the temple has been built is known as "Bhasmacala". It was built in1694CE by the Bar Phukan Garhganya Handique as requested by the master Gadadhar Singha (1681-1696) which was one of the ablest and most grounded rulers of the Ahom dynasty. Yet, later it was broken down in a tremor in 1897 however was again reconstructed by a rich local merchant who chose to inscribe the interior part of a Siva temple with Vaisnavite slogans.

🙏Mythological Beliefs about Umananda :

Peoples believe that in ancient times, Lord Siva dwelled here as Bhayananda. As indicated by the Kalika Purana, at the start of the creation Siva sprinkled remains (bhasma) at this spot and conferred information to Parvati (his partner). It is said that, when Siva was in contemplation on this hillock, Kamadeva interfered with his yoga and was subsequently scorched to cinders by the fire of Siva's outrage and consequently the hillock got the name Bhasmacala. 

This mountain is likewise called Bhasmakuta. The Kalika Purana expresses that Urvasikunda is arranged here and here dwells the goddess Urvasi who brings Amrit (nectar) for the delight in Kamakhya and subsequently the island got the name Urvasi Island.
