According to the news report shared by the other official news channels from North East India & also including few national media like Republic Tv etc, Assam has total death of 1485 people in the state as of 5th May 2021 in the second wave of mutant Covid-19 virus.

Kamrup (Metro) is currently in a very critical stage where many areas are already declared as containment zone from yesterday evening.

Wards/Areas which are considered as containment Zone in Kamrup (Metro) cities are-

Ward Nos- 3,8,14.16.28,29.31

i.e-- Beltola, Bashistha, Fatasil, Ambari, Barshapara, Dhirenpara, Kumarpara, AT Road, Machkhowa, Bhutnath, Khanapara, Panjabri, Hatigaon, Ulubari, Rihabari, DGP complex, Bilpara, Solapara, Pandu, Maligaon, Narengi and Bonda.

Also, Kamrup (Metro) itself reported the highest number of death yesterday with 18 people followed by 6 in Barpeta, 3 each in Goalpara, Nagaon, and Sonitpur district. Bongaigaon, Cachar, Dhemaji, Kokrajhar, Sivasagar, Kamrup (Rural) also has 2 deaths in each district. Dibrugarh, Hojai, Darrang, Charaideo, Jorhat, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Tinsukia, and Nalbari have each also has 1 death per district.

According to the health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, as of 5th May, 2021 Assam has a total tally of 2,72,751 no of covid cases, and 4,826 people were infected only in one day in the entire state.
