They don't scared of anything, and they don't think often about death. They are equivalent to us however their musings make them novel from the remainder of people. But there are certain segments of people that sometimes appear on this planet like a superhuman and dream about those unusual achievements of life without any specific cause to mention. Their strong desire and passion to achieve the unhappenings make them so exceptional that, they create their significance differently than the rest of the humans. They don't like to stay connected only with those common mazes of human lives that we are generally involved with.

Dedication, hard work, determination, self-motivation, and the unstoppable willpower to do something unusual makes them so gutsy and charming in society that, people are bound to appraise their work generation by generation.

Presumably, you may hear, about the "Gauri Shankar" mountain peak of the Himalayas. In earlier days, it was known as the second-highest mountain peak of the Rolwaling Himal, behind Melungtse (Nepal). This peak has a height of 7,134 m in the mountain scope of the Himalayas. People groups know well how dangerous it could be if somebody wanted to climb such a taller pinnacle of the Himalayas. There are many examples and cases of death that are reported while climbing at "Gauri Shankar" but still certain people groups have not halted their mission of winning it yet. So the question is why?

In a book by the late Homen Borgohain (Eminent writer of Assamese literature), "Manuh Howar Gourav" (pride to be human), mentioned that once a bold climber was asked, "why they come to Gauri Shankar for climbing despite they know it well that, it is too risky and many individuals have died before with several unsuccessful stories". But in response that bold climber very honestly replied, "Only because, of the presence of it ".

Anyway, this article is about another tragic story of "Adventure" which we call as "Sleeping beauty of mount Everest". So what is this story all about? Below are the details.

The pride and the tragic history of the Indian Football team at the Olympics

World Tallest mountain peaks:

Could you imagine how high "Mount Everest" is? Yes, it is the highest mountain on planet earth with an elevation (snow height)of 8,848.86 m i.e (29,031.7 ft) above the sea level located in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas. It is standing between Nepal and Tibet, an autonomous region of China. And if someone asks, how long it take to climb Mount Everest then the appropriate response would be it's around 50 to 65 days of adventure to win Everest.

Until 1852, it was assumed that Kangchenjunga is the world's highest mountain which has an elevation of 8,586 m i.e (28,169 ft) in a section of the Himalayas but in the year 1856, it was proved as incorrect and "Mount Everest" was officially announced as the world highest mountain. But presently Kangchenjunga is standing as the world's 3rd highest mountain peak on the list.

However, there is one more mountain peak in the Karakoram Range of Northern Jammu and Kashmir, near the border of Pakistan and China. This is the world's second tallest mountain peak on earth with an elevation of 8,611 m (28,252.69 ft). It is also called K2 because it was the second peak that was measured in this range. The other name of it is "Dapsang". In the 19th century, an English geographer namely Henny Haversham Godwin-Austen surveyed this region first hence it is named as Godwin-Austen in his honor. That is how we got the world's second-highest mountain peak as Godwin-Austen after "Mount Everest" in the parent mountain ranges Himalayas.

The Story of the Sleeping Beauty of mount Everest:

"Francys Arsentiev" is one of the most valiant women from the United States. She was working as an accountant post-fulfillment of her graduate degree from the international school of Business Management in Phoenix. Besides her excellent educational background, probably it was most likely the decision of god to choose her as a marvelous "Mountaineer" for occupation and came to this adventurous mission of life.

Thus probably, it was her last mission that pull her to see the most compelling pinnacle of Mount Everest when she dreamed to be the first woman to climb the most elevated point of Mount Everest without the use of supplemental Oxygen from the U.S.

In the year 1992, Francys Arsentiev wedded Sergei Arsentiev, and together they ascended numerous Russian peaks and 5800 m ascent of the peak was their first mountain climber experience which they named "Peak Goodwill". Later North America's mount "Denali" and mount Elbrus and so on were some in the rundown. From that point forward she had fostered an interest to climb Mount Everest and imagined turning into the first lady from the United States to summit Everest without the usage of supplemental Oxygen.

The real journey of climbing Mount Everest:

It was May 1998, the two of them Francys Arsentiev and her husband Sergei Arsentiev arrived at the base camp of Mount Everest. Furthermore, on May 17, they had begun their real mission towards Mount Everest and ascended from the Advance base camp to the North Col on the next day, they covered a distance of 7700 m i.e (25,262 ft).

On May 19th, they climbed another couple of yards and arrived at 8,200 m i.e (27,000 ft), and remained at camp 6. On that day, Sergei detailed over the radio that, they were fit as a fiddle and going to begin their final endeavor on May 20 at 1 am.

Subsequently, after spending the night at camp 6, they attempted their highest point endeavor on the 20th of May but unfortunately, they turned around since their headlamps failed. Afterward, on May 21, they were able to ascend only just 50-100 m and again remained at camp 6.

This way they had gone across two aborted missions of the summit attempt to win Mount Everest without the assistance of supplemental Oxygen. But, probably everything occurs for a reason and which we called as the " Game of God". Simply envision for some time, how it could be if you were there at such a high mountain peak, ascending, and surrounded by ice with questionable climate conditions, no available oxygen, and no appropriate food, however you are going ahead to accomplish your fantasy by battling with nature.

Ascending was extremely dangerous at high altitudes and without the help of oxygen. Due to oxygen problems, they both moved slowly and had to stay one night at more than 8000 meters (26,000 feet). Nevertheless, they were separated and isolated in the evening. The next morning, Sergei came down to the camp to see if his wife had arrived and also realized that she might have to live dangerously somewhere in the high peak so he came looking for her, with oxygen and medicine.

From that point forward, it was not certain what happened next but an Uzbek mountaineering group that tried to the summit to win Everest on May 23 said they had encountered Francis Arsentiev and found her in a semi-conscious position. She was affected by a lack of oxygen and frostbite and was unable to move on her own. The Uzbek team took care of her and they tried to help her until their oxygen was depleted and the last attempt.

Francis Arsentiev was still alive, and that evening when the Uzbek team took her to camp they also met Sergei Arsentiev on their way, but that was the last time Sergey was seen alive.

Again on the morning of 24th May, Briton Ian Woodall, South African Cathy O'Dowd, and a couple of extra Uzbeks encountered Francys Arsentiev while on their way to the highest point of Everest. She was there where she had been left the evening before by the Uzbek team. However Sergei Arsentiev's ice ax and rope were recognized nearby, yet he was bafflingly gone and not found.

For more than an hour, both Woodall and O'Dowd aborted their summit attempts and tried to help Francys Aresntiev. However, her condition was exceptionally poor around then, but due to the frigid climate, and highly risky altitude, they had to forsake her and descend to camp.

She passed away, as they discovered her lying on her side and still clipped onto the guide rope. She left one son behind at the age of 40. With that, her corpse got the nickname "Sleeping Beauty of Mount Everest".

A year later, in 1999, Jack Norton, a mountaineer from the "Meloreand Ervin" expedition, found Sergei's body underneath in the face of the hill. According to them, Sergei died when he fell while trying to protect his wife Francis at the time.

Mount Everest's Rainbow Valley:

When we utter the word "Rainbow", we generally think about colors, nature, beauty, and peace, and so on, isn't that so? However, on account of this "Rainbow Valley" of Mount Everest, the story is different. The Rainbow Valley of Mount Everest shows the most obscure side of this, which is inverse to all the grand magnificence of Everest.

Rainbow Valley dead bodies

You can simply imagine the above-mentioned story of Francy's Arsentiev which is probably the best example just to acknowledge how perilous it is to climb, Mount Everest. The Rainbow Valley of Mount Everest is a region beneath the northern edge of Mt. Everest located over an elevation of 8000 m (26,247 ft). Many succeeded however the greater part failed to win Everest. So this valley is commonly for those unsuccessful climbers of Mount Everest who died while climbing but become a story, a motivation, and learning for many other new climbers. "Rainbow Valley" is a range that is extended with the dead bodies of many unsuccessful climbers. Until now, numerous dead bodies are lying on this stretch of Mount Everest and sleeping forever.

The valley is filled with the bodies of unsuccessful climbers with their bodies covered in blue, red, green, and orange shading jackets. In addition, it is discarded with colored waste tents, cans, and many oxygen tanks. For this, the area looks extremely colorful from a distance and is named the "Rainbow Valley" of Mount Everest.

The Death Zone :

After 8000m of elevation at Mount Everest, this region is popularly called as "Death zone of Mount Everest". Climbing at such a high altitude is extremely dangerous and leads to many deaths. The primary reason for death at this range is the lack of oxygen. It has an exceptionally lower level of oxygen at this peak which is only one-third of the normal oxygen level. Alongside the thin oxygen level, different variables, for example, harsh climate, and the strong blow of wind likewise cause numerous deaths in this zone of Everest.

The route at the death zone is so narrow that it can hold only one body at a time. The cramped trail at this scope of Everest makes the summit extremely unsafe and leaves no area for the forthcoming line of the culmination climbers. Thus, in the peak season, you can see the long queue to finish the Everest climb which happens simply because of the "death zone".

Death Zone of Mount Everest

Death is common in this area and, as a result, any climber who dies in the "death zone" is pushed towards the area below the "Rainbow Valley". Thus, "Rainbow Valley" becomes an inevitable cemetery for dying bodies.

The dead bodies of Mount Everest mostly remain forever in the death zone like "Rainbow valley". Rescuing dead bodies from this high altitude is very risky due to its awful environmental conditions. Powerful wind at this elevation makes helicopter rescue less possible and even bringing down a dead body physically by climbing from such a high altitude is also become undeniably challenging. In the narrow trail, severe weather condition makes the rescue almost impossible for the rescue climbers, and people don't even want to do it just for a "dead body". Additionally, a few deaths were also reported before while trying to rescue the dead bodies from this zone of Mount Everest.
